THERE IS very little foreign money flowing into the Philippine stock market at present, despite the local bourse having entered a bull market phase recently. Giving a breath of fresh air though is UK-based Global Emerging Markets (GEM), which has been actively scouting for stock market bargains. And like the Social Security System, GEM has shown a greater appetite for publicly listed small-cap companies rather than blue chips.
To date, GEM has interests in IT holding firms DFNN Inc. and IPVG Corp., gaming and entertainment firm Premiere Entertainment Philippines Inc., newly listed (by way of introduction) Century Peak Metal Holdings Corp. and fruit exporter AgriNurture Inc. (ANI). Read more...
